About Me

This is simply a fresh start for me. I’m gradually changing and I've decided that I just needed something new.

First off, Hello. It’s wonderful to have you here on my blog and I hope you enjoy yourself while you make your way through it’s pages. My name is Jannetje (Yawn-it-cha); which you probably already know from my description. I also go by Janni (Yawn-ee); I have since I was a little girl just because people have a difficult time with my birth name. Because I know that I will get asked this question (at least once), my name originates from the Netherlands. My oma’s entire side of the family is Dutch. But, that’s not at all my only heritage. I’m Cherokee Indian, Greek, Scottish, Irish, Czech and probably a ridiculous amount of other things. (I just refer to myself as a European mutt of sorts.) -Moving on- I am on the shorter side of things, standing at only 5 feet 1 inch. I have brown hair (or red depending on the way I’m feeling. I swear, I dye my hair so much it’s kind of ridiculous.) and light brown eyes. I have a ton of freckles and a really small mouth. But those are all just surface things that people notice.

I like to think of myself as more than just the way I look or my features. I like to think that I have a good personality. I’m kind, honest and I care about other people’s feelings. I try to be understanding and I try to look from other people’s perspectives. I ask for opinions a lot. I attempt to be funny, but I’m pretty sure I fail at it. I’m loving and for the most part, always happy. I try to look at the brighter side of things. I’m really girly; I love glitter and my favorite color is pink. I love floral patterns and I love to craft and try out D.I.Y. projects (Pinterest is an amazing site!). I’m a photographer, regardless of what people say. When I’m passionate about something, I will give it my all and won’t give up. I can sing and I can act. But I haven’t done either (on a stage) in a very long time.

My personal life consists of my job as an insurance adjuster with my dad’s company. I’m not a big fan of what I do but I am a really big fan of the big paychecks I get twice a month and the things that those paychecks can buy. I have two younger siblings, a brother and a sister. My parents are still together. And all of us, including my uncle, live together. Both of my grandmother’s are still alive and neither of my grandfathers are. I don’t get along with my Oma (mom’s mom) but I really look up to my Mema (dad’s mom). My mom’s dad passed away in his 40’s so I never got the chance to meet him. My Pepa (dad’s dad) passed away the summer between my 7th and 8th grade year of middle school and it literally ripped me apart. That summer caused a lot of health problems for me (luckily today I am dealing with things properly). Another big portion of my personal life belongs to my friends, both friends that live near by and friends far away. Occasionally you might see our conversations or pictures of them or us being posted on here. But the biggest part of my personal life is my boyfriend, soul mate and the love of my life, Wesley Gene Sparks III.

I feel like Wesley needs his own paragraph because he’s such a vital and big part of my life and he’s the reason that I am the person that I am. I met Wesley (officially) my Freshman year of high school. (We live in a small town so I’m sure we had run into each other at least once before). We were both in band and quickly he became one of my best friends. I always knew I could talk to him about anything and he wouldn't judge me for it, regardless of what the topic was. Throughout high school, we never dated. (Wesley actually dated three of my really good friends while he was in school.) He enlisted into the Texas National Guard his senior year and after he graduated, we lost touch for a while. Other than random Facebook messages, we hardly ever spoke. (As you may or may not know, from the summer between my Junior and Senior year until about the middle of last year, I had been in a relationship with my high school sweetheart. Things were good and then I realized that I was a different person and we just weren't good together.) Wesley came back into my life shortly after that. We randomly started talking to each other again and things just clicked. We constantly sent each other text messages and the occasional phone calls. I actually told him that I had feelings for him before he told me. But he talked me into actually trying a relationship with him and it has honestly been the best decision I have ever made before. He’s my best friend. I love him with my whole heart. - Changing subjects -
