and sparks fly: One Year and an amazing party.

December 11, 2011. I began dating a man I've known since I was a freshman in high school. At the time, I had no idea what was to come out of our relationship. It was just the two of us, friends, testing out the waters of relationship to see if we would float or sink. I don't think either of us could have ever imagined how we would have ended up. So ridiculously in love with one another. Planning the future with one another. A year ago, yesterday, I found my soul mate in my best friend.

We kicked off our anniversary right at midnight with a race to see who could post their "happy anniversary status" on Facebook first. Wesley won but it was a close race. We received a ridiculous amount of congratulations and happy anniversary's from our friends and family and even complete strangers. When we woke up in the morning, it was just a bunch of errands. Social Security office, DMV and then lunch at Culver's. From there, we came back to my place where I spent over an hour getting ready for the night. Wesley passed out on the couch with my cat. From my house, we went to Wesley's so that he could get ready. Needless to say, he took much less time than I did and by 4:00 we were out of the house.

Our anniversary dinner was spent at Chili's. I had a 6 oz. steak with mashed potatoes and Wes had some chicken. From there we made our one hour trip to Cowboy's Dancehall in San Antonio, Texas. We expected the line to be shorter than it was but we ended up on the side of the building because of the line. Wesley and I made two new friends that we hung out with for the evening. We waiting in line for almost 2 hours before we made it inside. The concert was a Christmas one that is held every year by one of our local (and favorite) country radio stations, KJ 97. I won tickets by posting photos of Wesley and I on their wall and by telling them that it was our anniversary. The show was for Casey James, Dustin Lynch, Jana Kramer, Thomas Rhett, Kip Moore and Love & Theft. We only stayed for Casey, Dustin, Jana and Thomas. Thomas Rhett, being my absolute favorite, ended my night with Something To Do With My Hands. Casey James played both of my favorite songs of his; Let's Don't Call It A Night and Cryin' On A Suitcase. Jana Kramer played Whiskey and an interesting rendition of Somebody That I Used To Know. And Dustin Lynch not only played Cowboys And Angles (which Wesley sang to me) but he played my all time favorite of his songs She Cranks My Tractor.

It was a fantastic night and it was a fantastic anniversary. I cannot wait to spend the rest of my life with Wesley by my side and to have more amazing nights like last night.
